I’ve had a very busy few weeks and finally have some time today to be more reflective. Typically when we don’t take time to tune in and stay conscious it’s easy to fall back in to bad habits which can lead to negative thinking. But it really is all about choice. I can choose to work like a crazy woman today, get stressed, ignore the subtleties that come my way from the Universe and go to bed exhausted feeling guilty that I didn’t walk the dogs. Or I can choose to honor myself and respect my body, prepare some nutritious healthy meals, walk the dogs and go to bed feeling happy about the way I lived my life today. Because I only get one “today”.
The difference is profound. Take the time to eat right and you have more energy, more sanity and you don’t have to worry about your weight. Start off to the races the first thing in the morning because you don’t think you can take time to work out or fix breakfast and the next thing you know, you feel like crap, are on the verge of getting crabby and don’t sleep well that night.
Your best bet is to approach every day with a positive attitude. The most important thing you need to do every day is FEEL good. If you spend your time obsessing about how awful you are, how unworthy you are and what a screw up you are do you feel good? If you’re doing things that make you feel bad, you’re missing the boat. If you are making the healthy choices and taking care of yourself it’s much easier to FEEL good and for that you will be rewarded. The more you FEEL good, the more things you want will go your way, things you need will come your way and the happier you’ll be.
You can change your thought process from thinking of desert as a reward to having a health delicious meal as being a treat and rewarding yourself because you deserve it.
So think about it every day when you wake up. How do you want to feel? What do you want from this day?
You have a choice!
