Feeding the hungry soul

December 4, 2013

If you get your fill from all of the outside sources that are attempting to feed you, there’s a chance that you’ll continue to be hungry even after consuming a big meal. The issue is what’s being served. Most of what we hear, see, smell and feel these days doesn’t taste as good as it used to. Our senses have been dulled, by overstimulation.

Dealing with Family Drama During the Holidays

November 27, 2013

It’s not just me, the morning talk shows do segments on it every year, the dreaded family drama that come from getting everyone together. Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season and brings us a mixed bag of anticipation and excitement, joy, disappointment, infighting and drama. Why? What Kind of Person Are You?

November 22, 2013

I’m on this kindness thing this week. I can’t get it out of my head. The more I think, write and talk about it, the more it blows my mind. We can make such a big impact on those we meet on a daily basis just by coming from a place of kindness and compassion.

Nurturing is Key After a Tragedy

November 14, 2013

Those first few days it was all I could do to get myself to eat. I had no appetite. I spent every morning in bed journaling, and continuing my gatitude practiced for an hour, two hours or three. whatever it took to get myself up and moving. My energy was gone, drive non-existent and I wasn’t quite sure how to engage with the world because I had never experienced this before.

Losing the Love of My Life

October 29, 2013

I miss you already. It’s been a day. the house is so empty and quiet without you here. No one talking to me when I pull into the garage. No one giving me the look because you want to eat. No one here licking your lips when I ask, “Are you hungry?” And no one standing here this morning, running in and out of the bedroom waiting, and waiting until I ask, “Are you ready to go for a walk?” and responding with a big tail wag and a jump up from your position on the floor.
