I attended a professional women’s event last week to be a mentor to other working women. The program started with networking exercises to share new ways to start conversations with other people. One of the questions the leader asked was how many women have ever considered not taking a job because they didn’t think they could do it. I was astounded at the number of hands that quickly flew up in the air.

As I looked out the kitchen window early this morning I noticed how content she was nibbling away at some weeds and . Then, it happened, the the sprinklers came on right where she was eating. She froze. She put her ears back and went into defensive mode.

Do you watch the news? Do you get sucked in to all the headlines glaring at you when you open your web browser? With all the avenues of social media there are now many ways for you to be subjected to news and information. All of that quickly becomes an overload to your brain, body and system.

One of the things I’ve learned from studying the brain, human behavior and our ability to create and reach our goals is that it is much simpler than we make it.
