Let’s change the subject, shall we? Time to think about some thing that Feels Good.
There is too much discussion and focus on what we’re tired of with the global crisis of weather, illness, restrictions…and an upcoming election. These and how you’re doing being stuck at home with spouse and/or kids 24×7 may make you feel you’re about to explode.
I had dinner with friends on Saturday night and they were both a bit weary of being around each other ALL THE TIME and both working from home. It’s an experience for sure.
Shifting your focus can help calm your mind, reduce stress in your body, and assist you in remembering what Feels Good. We all need a mental break at times to find our way through challenges.
Will you take a couple of minutes to answer these questions? C’mon, it will be fun!
- What is one topic that always feels good when you think of it?
- What is your favorite movie or TV show?
- Basketball or Baseball playoffs?
- Wine or Beer?
- Vacationing on a beach or in the mountains?
- Dogs or cats?
- Favorite song from when you were a teenager?
- Fast Cars or Symphonies?
- Outdoor concerts or cruises?
- The one thing you enjoy most at the end of the day?
Now that you took a minute to answer a few questions that came at you from out of nowhere, you’re mind is in a bit of a different state isn’t it? And I suspect there might be even a small smile on your face huh?
Have you ever been outside with your dog (or near one) and the dog turns quickly to look at something that you don’t see? Then, here comes someone or something down the path. Animals sense things in many cases far earlier than we do. When I was in California, I witnessed my dogs acting totally weird and unsettled in the hours before an earthquake happened.
As a human you are surrounded by energy whether you are tuned in to it or not. Your focus and thoughts contribute to what type of energy surrounds you. Thoughts, like a radio station have a vibrational frequency. If you’re always tuned in to the news, the alerts, the latest updates on things that are negative you’ll experience that negativity in your mood whether unconsciously or consciously.
If you make a conscious choice to stay focused on things that make you feel good, what you want to do, what change you want to create in this world, and how you can serve or support others around you, you’re energy will be affected in a much more positive way. It’s true.
This is why it’s important for you to give yourself periodic time outs. During the day, when you wake, before you sleep…or before you blow up!
