Have you ever noticed that many of the most powerful things that make a big difference are really…simple?
It sounds so silly that this thing we perceive as so little, makes a difference.
It sounds so silly that just one person can take an action that makes a difference, with noticeable impact (positive or negative).
It sounds so silly that by adjusting the way you’ve been looking, thinking or talking about something, can change your life dramatically.
It can alter the course of your career. It can catapult your success.
Yet it’s True
Life is simple.
“We” humans make it hard.
Right now you’re probably saying, “Lori, what the heck have you been smoking?”
Nutin.
I have a sign hanging on a door that says:
“To remove obstacles from your life one must understand doubt is the only obstacle.”
I could rattle off many quotes in an attempt to drive the point home, but it won’t help because words won’t get you there.
You’ve got to believe, to feel, to experience it for yourself.
I study people. What made them successful. What they went through to become successful.
I listen to their words, I hear what they were passionate about along the journey.
How committed they were (or weren’t) until they had a shift, an awakening that pointed them in a different direction.
They followed a new path where they found the success they were looking for.
For some, the cycle was repeated multiple times before finding the joy of the success they desired.
It’s a journey after all.
The biggest thing that shapes your journey in life is your perception.
Your perception creates the reality of what you think is happening in your life.
And that thought that you think over and over again, it becomes a belief, and that belief fuels your reality.
Your perception is your reality.
My perception is my reality.
They may be completely different, or aligned so well that it feels really good.
Where you focus your emotional energy leads to your “next.”
What is your mood, outlook, emotional state on a typical day? Are you generally:
>Happy/Enthusiastic
>Positive/Optimistic
>Satisfied/Content
>Pessimistic/Frustrated/Impatient
>Sad/Disappointed
>Overwhelmed
>Angry
>Worried
I’ve said it many, many times. You always have a choice.
You have a choice where you focus your energy.
You have a choice what you think about when you wake, when you drive, when you work, when you play, and when your head hits the pillow at night.
Make the choice to be happy and have fun, and watch what happens.
Make the choice to expect to see what you’re looking for, and watch what happens.
Make the choice to live in FLOW and release the worry, and watch what happens.
It’s not the flip of a light switch.
Yet as you shift your focus and are attentive to where your focus is and how you feel, you’ll have more joy, more fun and more of whatever you’re looking for in your life.
It sounds so silly, that it can be so simple.
