You’re familiar with the traditional forms of treatment and may have tried them all: Inpatient, residential, outpatient, intensive out-patient, counseling, and various forms of group therapy. But are you aware of the benefits of working with an eating disorder coach?
The Learn2Balance Eating Disorder Coaching Programs are a combination of life coach meets nutritionist, cheerleader, mentor, friend with personal experience living with an eating disorder who found victory. What this means to you is there is someone who truly understands what you’re going through. A person who can totally “get in your corner,” doesn’t judge you and is your consummate cheerleader, accountability partner and is totally invested in your journey to freedom.
This relationship isn’t controlled by an insurance company so you don’t lose traction when the insurance company cuts off your benefits. It won’t result with you being back home in your trigger environment with no one to support you.
In working with this eating disorder coaching program, depending on your location you work in person or over the phone. You work the program from the comfort and privacy of your home. You don’t have to interrupt your life schedule to go to intensive all day outpatient or travel to residential treatment. It saves the embarrassment of having to let everyone at home, work or school know about your challenge with an eating disorder.
It gives you the opportunity to learn the lessons and make improvement while you are living your life vs. The Biggest Loser approach where you learn all the lessons while disengaged from life and then have to go home and figure out how to be strong and stay on track once thrust back into your daily schedule.
The core difference in coaching vs. traditional approaches is we are focused on where you want to go and what you want to do in life vs. spending time focused on the behavior(s). You learn life skills that take you far beyond overcoming your eating disorder and teach you practical, easy to use tools to deal with the stress of life and stay strong.
Many individuals who have tried everything else and still continue to struggle find our program and are surprised at the uniqueness of the approach. As a bulimia survivor, motivational speaker and award-winning author of It Started with Pop-Tarts, I developed this program after a 30+ year battle with bulimia, low self-esteem and poor body image. I found an alternative approach that led to my recovery. I pulled together the components that contributed to my victory and established this program. My clients are reaching levels of recovery they never thought possible.
What is so different about this approach and how do you determine if it could work for you? The Learn2Balance programs are focused on three on three powerful steps:
1 – Nutritional Therapy
2 – Shifting Mindset
3 – Healing at the Cellular Level
Let’s explore each of these in more detail:
1. Nutritional Therapy
Gives you a huge advantage and helps you shift your recovery efforts from sheer willpower to desire. The Learn2Balance program integrates brain and body chemistry as critical elements to recovery. Once the brain and body have the fuel they need to function properly your mind easily shifts to embracing your recovery vs. “trying harder” the next day to make it happen with willpower. Using natural supplements and a balanced food plan this typically happens in a short period of time.
2. Shifting Mindset
Teaches you how to handle life with a different attitude. You’ll change beliefs, improve your self-esteem and learn how much control you have over your mind and thoughts. Your thoughts don’t control you – you allow them too. This is possible because of the combination of the nutritional therapy.
3. Healing at the Cellular Level
Ultimate healing and victory comes from learning awareness, how to live in each and every moment by turning off the autopilot switch and taking responsibility for your life. Healing also takes place using simple, yet powerful techniques to release the traumas and issues that brought you into your eating disorder.
Who is this program for?
Individuals who are motivated to get help and ready make a change in their lives. Individuals who are tired of being a slave to their eating disorder behaviors and want a life free of these behaviors.
If you have recently left or are leaving treatment and need support in your home environment this program is a perfect fit for keeping you on your path to freedom and victory.
Clients are accepted into the program by an application process.
Who isn’t this program for?
If you are in a life threatening situation and need hospitalization this program won’t be able to provide what you need. If you are in denial about your eating disorder and are being forced to seek help this program is not for you.
This is truly a holistic approach that integrates mind, body and spirit. What you will find in this program is the ability to reconnect your mind and body, which is the key to recovery and freedom.
