The concept of resolutions is merely a way of saying, “Gee, I hope I can do this,” or “I’m going to try to do this.” Both of these statements are disempowering. By using the word “try” you’ve already programmed your subconscious mind to believe that you are going to fail.
Finding Compassion in Drama
Are you sick of people yet? It’s getting close to the holidays and everyone is moving at a faster pace than normal. People don’t read things slowly enough to get all the details. People forget to tell you they cancelled a meeting – and you drove 90 minutes in horrible traffic to get there.
Feeding the hungry soul
If you get your fill from all of the outside sources that are attempting to feed you, there’s a chance that you’ll continue to be hungry even after consuming a big meal. The issue is what’s being served. Most of what we hear, see, smell and feel these days doesn’t taste as good as it used to. Our senses have been dulled, by overstimulation.
Dealing with Family Drama During the Holidays
It’s not just me, the morning talk shows do segments on it every year, the dreaded family drama that come from getting everyone together. Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season and brings us a mixed bag of anticipation and excitement, joy, disappointment, infighting and drama. Why? Because many families—and I know this will be shocking for you to read—are dysfunctional.
What Kind of Person Are You?
I’m on this kindness thing this week. I can’t get it out of my head. The more I think, write and talk about it, the more it blows my mind. We can make such a big impact on those we meet on a daily basis just by coming from a place of kindness and compassion.
