Lori with UCCS Chancellor’s Leadership Class
Wow! That’s all I can say. I had such an incredible day today. I was invited to be the guest speaker for UCCS Chancellor’s Leadership Class and what a special group of college students this was. We discussed the seven key areas of life that we need to balance. After sharing with them the importance of brain and body chemistry I had them brake up into smaller groups to select three of the seven categories and identify goals, set steps to reach the goals, decide how to measure them and create affirmations.
These students did an excellent job of pulling together their collaborative plan of dealing with each life category they selected and setting goals whether it be physical, spiritual, school/career or the other categories we discussed. They really dug into this workshop.
I must say, I was impressed with the results I head from each group as they shared their goals and steps to reaching them. One group that tacked financial goals set a goal to help other people by setting aside money every week to help other people, like buying them a movie ticket. What a great idea and way of paying it forward. What a wonderful group of college students! This is exactly why I do what I do. Plus, I got to travel down to Larkspur and enjoy some time at their retreat nestled between the mountains and evergreens. Ah – fresh Colorado mountain air!

I couldn’t be happier to have introduced Lori Hanson to the Chancellor’s Leadership Class! Having served on the CLC Community Board, I’m well aware of the commitment to excellence, leadership, and service within the students, and among the dynamic leaders who work with them. Lori’s resources for students are so valuable, I’m confident these students will make use of her teachings for many years to come. Congrats to Lori, and to the CLC scholars!
