Good Morning!
And Happy Easter, if you are celebrating today.
We have doctors that specialize in various functions of the body from different organs, circulatory systems, respiratory systems, sinuses, bones, muscles, specific injuries, and more. But in the creation of all these specialties at times there is a missing element that we remain a “whole” body, a whole human. Everything is connected: mind, body, spirit.
Every form of discomfort = resistance. I think I first heard that from Bill Harris, founder of Centerpointe Research. That means that physical pain is connected or tied to emotions. There are many studies and articles about these associations. If you ignore your emotions, or the way you feel, over time you may develop a chronic illness, disease or persistent condition aka discomfort.
By accepting your feelings such as anger, frustration, irritation (especially at world events) you can then release your resistance and associated physical pain.
Louse Hay wrote for many years about the power of healing through understanding the probably cause (emotional state). When I have anything crop up, the first place I go to see what’s happening in my world that is causing the distress or discomfort is Louise’s “All is Well” book.
Mind you, this isn’t just positive thinking, this is addressing the root cause by shifting your thoughts through affirmations (positive statements geared in a different direction than the anger, irritation, frustration…whatever it may be).
Struggling is Optional! When is the last time you thought about that?
Natural Immune Booster:
Stop and close your eyes.
What emotion is highest for you right now?
- Stress
- Anger
- Frustration
- Fear
- Anxiety
- Joy
- Happiness
- Excitement
Take a few deep breaths and let this emotion BE there, instead of attempting to sweep it under the rug. Feel the anger, frustration, or anxiety. Acknowledge it, sit with it a few minutes and let it go.
You may even want to say, “I’m letting this emotion go,” or my favorite, “I now release all resistance.”
When you sit in the emotion vs. attempting to bury it with food, alcohol, screaming at someone, (or your favorite numbing pattern) you have a healthier perspective and body.
When you let go, you create more flow. And that’s a space you want to be in. It feels fantastic!
