What is it you want to manifest in your life in 2016? What one thing would you be ecstatic to say you’ve accomplished a year from now? Got a picture of it in your head? Now don’t start with all the excuses why you can’t have it, or don’t know how to get it. Stop those thoughts right in their tracks.
Now—let me ask you, what’s standing in your way of reaching it? Why isn’t in in your life today? What fears, limitations, and old beliefs about what you’re capable of have you let stand in your way? I know for certain anything—absolutely anything is possible!
I watched an episode of Off Camera with Sam Jones this weekend. He interviewed TV writer Bill Lawrence. Bill left for California to write at a very young age, he got his first real writing job quickly on a new show named Friends. He was fired after one year because as he said, he was brash and didn’t understand how to respect his boss. He was quickly snatched up to create Spin City, and through that experience connected with a key mentor. He rose quickly and again was a creative force behind Scrubs and more success followed.
I’ve often spoken of being on your path, that no matter where you are or what happens, it’s part of your life’s journey. Bill said it most eloquently, he said I always tell my friends, “Everything goes my way.” If I lose a job, or get a new one—everything is going my way. That’s an attitude I resemble, and live.
A year ago I had nothing, no revenue coming in, no work and one client enrolled in my new coaching program. I hadn’t paid rent in six months. You could say my future looked quite bleak. But I was still focused on what I wanted to manifest this year. I never gave up. I took a big step in a direction I never thought I would go and doors, windows and gates all swung open.
One year later, I’ve had a great year! I’ve worked with amazing clients and helped them make incredible transformations in their lives, moved to a much bigger home, realized my dream of going to the US Open in New York, rebranded my business, created a new website, rescued two Malamutes—and paid off a huge amount of debt from starting this business. I never gave up, I knew it was just part of my journey.
How different will 2016 be for you if your attitude is, “Everything is going my way!” regardless of what happens?
