Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking for the Denver Women’s Network of CH2M HILL. Thanks to Susan Mays, VP Marketing & Strategic Initiatives for inviting me in and Amanda Berkley, Global Workplace Communications, for helping to plan and coordinate the event. I’ve done a lot of work with CH2M Hill over the past eighteen years and alway enjoy being on their campus because it’s such an incredible group of people.

We had a great group of women turn out to hear my program, “B.A.L.A.N.C.E. Tell me where it is for ME.”
We discussed the many roles that working women have to play and why it’s so easy to lose balance in our lives. Trying to juggle all seven facets of life can become overwhelming:
- Relationships
- Financial
- Spiritual
- Social
- School/Career
- Recreational
- Physical
But stress has significant adverse affects on our health and cannot be ignored. So we explored the difference between feeling stress and having a choice.
We also looked at the foundation of what it takes to create balance in all seven areas of life. It starts with balancing body and brain chemistry. We need high-grade fuel to feel good and perform at our best. We need routine maintenance, just like our cars to keep functioning at optimum levels. And we need ensure that our neurotransmitters are fueled up and not depleted.
Two tips for beginning to create balance in the life of a working woman, mother, sister, daughter, friend, taxi driver, encyclopedia, therapist, banker, nurse, personal assistant/shopper and short order cook are:
- Start each day with the attitude of gratitude
- Plan your activities for the next day, the night before
Don’t stay stuck in the place you are today. Learn to live in this and every moment. If it’s new and you don’t know where to begin. Contact Us we’re here to help.
