May Reflection and Revitalization

May 1, 2025

We have finally made it to the month of May! I’m stoked, are you? It’s wonderful to enjoy rain the past  week or so, to see the grass turning green and my shrubs and flowers beginning to bloom. It’s time to revitalize and renew.

Spring is such a wonderful time for growth, discovery and expansion. I tend to get energized in Spring. From walking the dogs with less outerwear, to feeling the warmth of the sun as we stroll on our way. It’s just AWESOME.

In the past month I’ve spent a great deal of time in reflection, using deeply intense, yet powerful processes (including an equine coaching session!) to release old energy and limiting beliefs, along with judgement and bullshit from other people.

I didn’t intentionally start it because we were nearing Spring, my inner guidance and spirit just led me there.
Why? because I’m always on the quest for growth; personally and professionally.
Hey, I’ve got room to grow.

I’ve recently asked myself:

>How can I be a more authentic, inspirational, fun person others want to be around and learn from?

>How can I lead in a more  heart-centered, compassionate way?

>How can I share my passion for my programs, coaching and books in a way that is inviting and engaging? (I often get tangled up on this one.)

>What can I do to create tips newsletters and videos that are really helpful to you? (Sometimes it feels like a lot of crickets chirping in the background.)

I just love helping people.
That sounds really corny, but it’s true. It brings me such joy to do it. Whether helping a friend or family member set up a a new business, working through a new process with a coaching client, or offering up a coaching conversation to someone who just got laid off “again” to help them see what they might have missed in the “why it keeps happening,” category.

Yesterday I drove up to the North side of Denver (I live South of it) to meet with someone I deeply respect. Someone who hasn’t achieved their desired career advancements, who is very successful. Because I want to help them reach that next level and enjoy everything that comes with it.

Sometimes—okay often—it means moving on to another company. Not always, but reading the signs, listening to the unspoken feedback,  getting really clear on what you want and making the decision not to settle for less, takes courage, and guts.

Being unhappy, unfulfilled and unsatisfied is something that far too many people know how to handle. Let’s be honest, you don’t have to step out of your comfort zone, or step up to do it. But it’s no way to live.
Yes, indeed this is why I’m so passionate about helping  improve company culture! (Especially with the shaky economy happening right now.)

You spend too much time working, being in the workplace (home, hybrid or in the office) to be miserable. Then, as the joke goes, you bitch to your spouse or partner about work, and bitch to co-workers about your spouse or partner. How’s that helping? Psst, it’s not.

Good old fashioned open, honest conversations. That’s what you want more of. It can be totally intimidating, I get it. Here’s a little secret, it just takes practice.

Ask for feedback – do it at least once a week. From your boss, employees, clients and partners.

Give feedback – do this at least once a week, in a professional way. Not soft-stepped and sandwiched between compliments. This will help you to improve your level of trust, communication, ability to collaborate more easily. It greases the skids for when there is something more difficult to discuss, you’ll then have a track record of how said person may respond.

Do something someone will not expect – weekly.Express your sincere gratitude, write a complimentary note, offer to help out on a project, buy them coffee, take them to lunch, write an email to others in the office highlighting why they are special…you get the idea.

The hidden message here is to stop focusing on what’s wrong and create the space to live more in flow.
You’re on this planet to ENJOY life. To have fun and create more of what you want while being here.

What if you could no longer complain?

What if…

You could no longer think that thought?
…that limits you
…that scares you
…that stops you

What if…you were more present through the day, observing what’s happening around you?

…and taking a closer look at what’s right in front of you?
